Richard Bonynge

Vanaf 1963 het hy in opera-uitvoerings opgetree. In 1964 het hy sy debuut by Covent Garden (Bellini se Puritani) gemaak. Hy tree sedert 1970 by die Metropolitan Opera op (Norma, Orpheus en Eurydice deur Gluck, ens.). Werk in Vancouver (1973-78), artistieke direkteur van die Australiese Opera in Sydney (1976-86).

Het 'n aantal opnames uitgevoer, insluitend 'n reeks operas deur Massenet (The King of Lahore, ens.), Lakme (soliste Sutherland, Bakye), Lucia di Lammermoor (soliste Sutherland, Pavarotti, Milns, Giaurov, albei Decca). Sy vrou is die sangeres Joan Sutherland.
